Our Story

Precision Metal Services, Inc. (PMS) was founded by two entrepreneurial business partners. At age 10, Marty J. Payton Jr. and James J. Noonan met as golf caddies at Pawtucket Country Club in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Both coming from humble backgrounds, this business adventure started out in a true “partnership” fashion with both incomes divided evenly at the end of the day. Years later, with higher goals in sight, Precision Metal Services, Inc. set sail in 1975 as a premier world importation and distribution metals company. Initially servicing the electronics industry, PMS today serves the entire specialty metals, nickel and stainless steel industry from strategically located warehouse facilities in North America. PMS' corporate office and warehouse located in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania consist of 100,000 square feet on eight acres. PMS maintains over $40 million of just-in-time inventory for over 300 customers.

For the first 40 years of service, the founders of Precision Metal Services had not changed their style of business nor their business partnership beliefs. Their business plan remains: work hard, provide a “value added service” to their customers, and share equally in their rewards. PMS has grown through the second generation and now into the third always maintaining the founder’s philosophy.
