Wire Rod:
Precision Metal Services is the single, largest importer and distributer of stainless steel wire rod in the United States. All of our sources are modern, state-of-the-art, ISO-certified facilities that have been qualified by our technical staff as well as qualified in the marketplace. Our wire rod is hot-rolled, annealed and pickled in full or cut coils that range from 250 pounds to 4,000 pounds. We can offer our rod bare or with a soap pre-coat for heading. We stock a wide range of chemistries as well as sizes in our several warehouses located throughout the United States and Mexico. We have a large stock of cold heading stainless steel wire rod grades to meet very demanding applications with quick delivery. Our standard condition is hot rolled, annealed and pickled wire rod. We can offer the material bare or with a soap pre-coat. Standard diameters are .177” (4.5mm) to 1.26” (32mm) with standard weights ranging from 1,200-4,000 lbs. If needed, we can cut a coil to your exact weight requirements. We stock numerous grades of cold heading wire rod including but not limited to 200, 300, 400 series. In addition, we also stock many high nickel based alloys that can be used for cold heading. We stock many other sizes so please check with your Precision Metal’s sales representative for your specific inquiry!
Welding Grades:
We have a large stock of stainless steel welding grades to meet very demanding applications with quick delivery. Our standard condition is hot rolled, annealed and pickled wire rod. Standard diameters are .218” (5.5mm) to .276” (7mm) with coil weights that range from 1,500-3,500 lbs. We can offer material to standard AWS specifications or to your tailored specifications. We have both DFARS compliant and non-DFARS material available.
Forming Applications:
We have a large stock of stainless steel wire rod grades for forming applications with quick delivery. Our standard condition is hot rolled, annealed and pickled wire rod. We can offer the material bare or with pre-coat. Standard diameters are .177” (4.5mm) to 1.26” (32mm) with standard weights ranging from 1,200-4,000 lbs. If needed, we can cut a coil to your exact weight requirements. We stock numerous grades of wire rod including but not limited to 200, 300, 400 series. In addition, we also stock many high nickel based alloys that can be used for forming.
